Excellerate Global Management Program Participant

Jun 2010Apr 2012 · 1 yr 10 mos

  • The Excellerate program is an 18-month-long development program for potential Ericsson leaders. It takes participants through various dimensions of the company’s operations while developing the skills and academic knowledge they need to be world-class managers. The program has been around since 1999.
  • The three main sections of the program are:
  • Job rotation – There are three job rotations of about six months each where participants will gain practical experience in how Ericsson works. One of these will, preferably, involve customer contact and will be in a different country. Participants will be given feedback and evaluation on their performance during these job rotations.
  • Learning modules – All participants get together once every three months during the 18-month period, for learning modules of about seven to ten days. Here, they focus on the way the industry is changing, getting a global understanding of Ericsson, and covering areas such as business skills, communication skills, leadership and personal development, and self-learning.
  • Mentoring – participants will get a mentor from management, and a "buddy" from the Excellerate alumni.
  • The program provides challenging and rewarding opportunities and participants will be empowered and expected to contribute in an innovative environment. Participants will get the chance to develop customer contacts and experience Ericsson from a global perspective as they will live and work in different countries. Participants will not only be able to follow an international career path, but also get to work for a company which recognizes the importance of personal development.
