Ellen Derrick — CEO
I’m an enterprise leader with a track record of scaling and transforming large, complex organisations across Asia-Pacific, with full commercial accountability across multi-market operations. I currently lead Government & Public Services for Asia-Pacific at Deloitte, responsible for strategy, growth and performance across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Southeast Asia, India, Taiwan and Korea. My focus is on driving sustainable growth while helping governments and institutions navigate large-scale transformation, technology disruption and rising stakeholder complexity. Previously, I served as Managing Partner of Deloitte Australia’s Consulting business — a $1.4B enterprise of more than 5,000 professionals and 350 partners. During this time, we delivered sustained double-digit growth while repositioning the business for the next era: expanding into managed services, strengthening global technology alliances, building offshore-enabled delivery capability, and scaling cross-border collaboration across the region. Across my career, I’ve built and scaled new growth platforms in areas including climate and engineering, digital government and sovereign capability, and established Deloitte’s First Nations Consulting practice. My leadership approach combines commercial discipline with a deep understanding of how policy, technology and institutions intersect to drive system-level change. Earlier in my career, I worked across both government and consulting, shaping my perspective on how to lead in complex, highly regulated and politically sensitive environments. Alongside my executive roles, I’m committed to governance and social impact. I serve as Chair of batyr, a youth mental health organisation, sit on the board of the Corporate Mental Health Alliance of Australia, and am a member of Chief Executive Women. I’m particularly interested in leading organisations operating at scale through periods of transformation, growth and structural change—where clear strategy, disciplined execution and values-led leadership are critical to long-term impact.
