Li-Ting Liao — Software Engineer

Hi, I'm Li-Ting, a software engineer based in Adelaide who loves building apps end-to-end, from infrastructure to user interface. I enjoy working closely with users and seeing changes make a real difference. I'm currently building TechBridge as a solo founder, a social impact project that connects end-of-life devices to students in need. It was recently accepted into the ThincSeed pre-accelerator program 2026 🌱 Adelaide is my second home. I grew up and built my early career in Taiwan before making the move. What makes my path a little different: I didn't start in software. I spent three years at Kantar in Taipei leading cross-continental data teams across Hong Kong, India, and Australia, designing surveys, building dashboards, and translating messy data into decisions that clients could actually act on. That experience taught me something most engineers learn late: the software is never the point. The person using it is. That realisation was the spark. While still working full-time, I started teaching myself to code, then committed fully, attending a coding bootcamp in Taipei to build a real foundation. It paid off: I landed my first developer role at a smaller agency, working across full-stack development and testing. Shipping real features for real users, collaborating across the whole stack, that experience confirmed this was the direction I wanted to go deep on. So I moved to Australia and pursued a Master of Computing and Innovation at the University of Adelaide to sharpen the fundamentals and take my engineering seriously. So far, from work or personal projects, I've built across health tech billing systems, mining software, fitness apps, and personal projects in mental health and finance. This range of industries looks different on the surface. The story is the same: I want to build things that matter to someone outside the room where they were made. That's all about me for now.
