Previously, co-founder & Board member of HH2E AG, the fast-growing German green energy company. HH2E’s targets 4 GW of green hydrogen production capacity by 2030. Andreas is eager about combining new and traditional energy companies to accelerate the energy transition – recognizing the necessity for not only nurturing emerging green energy champions but also transforming legacy fossil-fuel businesses. This dedication was ignited during his two-year tenure as CEO of Uniper SE, where he commited to actively shape a sustainable energy future. When at Uniper, Andreas led the introduction of a new strategy to empower energy evolution. The new course started with a proactive coal-exit plan, as well as pioneering new sustainable energy solutions, such as hydrogen power. When Andreas left Uniper, the company was set to be carbon-neutral in Europe by 2035. Andreas has always been passionate about large scale industry transformation. Prior to Uniper, he served as the CEO of thyssenkrupp Elevator, leading the company through a transformation to become the innovation leader within the global industry while achieving record levels of profitability. The company’s value increased significantly, culminating in its sale in early 2020 for €17.2 billion, marking one of Europe's largest buyout deals ever. During his tenure, the company introduced the most significant innovations the industry had witnessed in over a century and consistently improved its business performance concurrently. Sales grew by 35%, EBIT increased by 67%, business cash flow tripled due to a positive development in net working capital, and the number of units under maintenance rose by 20%. Proven expertise in energy, urban mobility and automation, with a passion for business strategy and spearheading transformation initiatives.
