About

Engineers from IIT Delhi usually head to Silicon Valley. I spent six years at IIT Delhi, four in mechanical engineering and two as a research associate at Assistech, where we built an affordable refreshable Braille display for the visually impaired and patented the mechanism. In 2016, I came home to my father's bag factory in Surat. My father started Popular Industries in 2011, scaling it to 6,000 bags a day on his own. I joined him with one idea, that engineering thinking could solve what the Indian packaging industry had been stuck on for decades, how to make eco-friendly manufacturing actually scale. Fifteen years later, here is where we stand. We make 4,00,000 bags a day from a 100% automated facility, having grown 5x in the last six years and averaging 50% growth year on year, debt-free. We distribute pan-India to retail chains, FMCG brands, and ice-cream manufacturers, run our e-commerce platform bagsguru.in which sells around 5 lakh bags a month, launched MIRA, India's first AI agent for bag designing and order finalisation, and built a 22-person customer relationship team focused on delivering an impeccable customer experience. What we make today: → CoolMaster Bags, thermal packaging keeping ice cream cold for up to an hour during deliveries → HotMaster Bags for the HoReCa industry to deliver food hot → ColourMe Bags, DIY activity bags designed for stores dealing in kids' textiles, toys and gifts → ShipMaster bags, a reusable courier bag, to avoid large scale dumping of use and throw courier bags. → Custom-printed eco-friendly bags for textile, sweets, and other retail and export industries We launch a new product line every 6 months and are now extending into UK, GCC, USA, Australia and Canada through dealerships. I’m passionate about building Indian manufacturing capabilities that compete on the global stage through innovation, design, and reliability - not price alone. If you share that mindset as a brand, buyer, or partner, let’s start a conversation.
