  • AzHIMSS is a state wide chapter of the HIMSS national organization, a cause-based, global enterprise producing health IT thought leadership, education, events, market research and media services around the world. HIMSS encompasses more than 52,000 individuals, of which more than two-thirds work in healthcare provider, governmental and not-for-profit organizations across the globe, plus over 600 corporations and 250 not-for-profit partner organizations, that share this cause. Below are some of my achievements as a chapter leader over the past five (5) years:
  • Managed a 14 member Board of Directors which is nationally recognized as one of the premier chapters in the United States, receiving the Medium Chapter of the Year Award three of the last 4 years, 2014, 2013, and 2011.
  • Achieved Fellow Status (FHIMSS) in March of 2014. Less than 1% of the entire 52,000 membership are Fellows.
  • As Treasurer, improved chapter accounting services by replacing manual spreadsheet accounting to a hosted Quickbooks accounting solution with all corresponding bank accounts and PayPal seamlessly interfaced. Also integrated direct sponsorship payments via implementation of PayPal buttons directly on to our new website platform, replacing manual invoicing for sponsorship payments.
  • Designed, implemented, and integrated Sage Act! CRM, WebEx, and Constant Contacts (email, event management, & survey tools) to enhance overall member communication and member satisfaction.
  • While a five year member of the AzHIMSS board, increased membership from 440 members to 1,100, as well as increasing total assets from $22,000 to $52,000
