About

I help organizations avoid expensive AI and technology mistakes by identifying execution risks before implementation begins. Most technology initiatives fail long before a vendor is selected or a platform is deployed. They fail because leadership lacks visibility into ownership gaps, workflow constraints, decision bottlenecks, data realities, and organizational readiness. Through Technology Reality Check™ assessments, executive advisory engagements, and Fractional CIO leadership, I help organizations evaluate risk, improve decision quality, and create practical roadmaps for AI adoption, modernization, growth initiatives, mergers, and operational change. My role is intentionally vendor-agnostic. I focus on helping leaders understand what should happen next—not selling software, platforms, or implementation services. Organizations typically engage me to: • Assess AI and technology readiness • Reduce implementation and modernization risk • Evaluate technology investments and priorities • Improve operational clarity and decision confidence • Develop practical execution roadmaps • Provide Fractional CIO and executive technology leadership When implementation support is needed, I can also help guide architecture, vendor selection, and execution—but only after the underlying business realities are understood. Want a quick executive signal before investing in AI? Start with the Executive AI Readiness Assessment or schedule a Technology Reality Check™ discussion.

It 4 recruiters

Co-Founder

Jan 2015Oct 2017 · 2 yrs 9 mos

  • Wearer of all hats at IT 4 Recruiters. The aim of IT 4 Recruiters is to improve the recruiting process in the IT industry from start to finish. We have experienced frustration over the years that comes from recruiters and hiring managers being unclear about the IT positions they are attempting to fill. This is not an intentional lack of clarity and instead comes from IT staff having such a different background from many recruiters and managers. The knowledge gap creates a situation similar to trying to recruit in a foreign language. The world of IT is huge, but we will take a step at a time to build out a knowledge base of IT knowledge translated for non IT people. This will provide a bridge for those that need to understand IT concepts and terms without spending the time learning how it all works. We will focus on terminology and principles where possible and avoid mind numbing detail that many IT discussions devolve into. We have a road map of topics we plan to cover, but we will also open up a slot each month for the community to vote on covering a topic we have not yet addressed.

  • Was the first IT guy into a software company that had outsourced its development. I started the software development group from scratch including a rough transition of undocumented code from a vendor to an in house team that I built. A long and bumpy ride of growth included developing processes and procedure for the development team, gathering requirements through customer interaction and building the vision for the company along with the executive team.

Rb consulting, inc

Founder/Technology Strategy Consultant

Jan 2001Present · 25 yrs 5 mos

  • My work sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology execution. I help organizations gain clarity—starting with how the business actually operates—before recommending or building solutions. That foundation is what makes technology investments stick.
  • My current focus is on business consulting, IT and AI readiness assessments, and systems engineering, often leading into implementation once priorities, risks, and outcomes are clearly defined. By grounding decisions in real business needs—not tools or trends—implementation becomes faster, more practical, and far more likely to succeed.
  • Across my career, I’ve led end-to-end initiatives spanning J2EE, .NET, Python, Node, and PHP ecosystems. These engagements typically cover the full lifecycle:
  • translating business goals into technical strategy
  • defining architectures and technical specifications
  • hands-on implementation and integration
  • testing, deployment, and operational handoff
  • Clients work with me not just to “build software,” but to reduce uncertainty, align teams, and create systems that support growth instead of slowing it down. If you’re looking for a partner who can think strategically, speak both business and technical language, and stay accountable through execution, that’s where I add the most value.
