• Led the development of Checkscan: preventing fraud in retail stores with Computer Vision. Taking an MVP to a scalable product adopted by 100+ SCOs.
• Working closely with engineers, data scientists and researchers, we released:
• Object tracking and classification under heavy visual occlusions, with generalization across different product catalogues and stores.
• KPIs, monitoring dashboards, and ML pipelines for finetunning.
• Face anonymization for store customers and employees.
• Non-scan identification: determine which products were not scanned, to support employees and allow customers to self-correct their mistakes.
• API and its integration with a wide range of Point of Sale (PoS) providers.
• Roll-out tools: software installer, hardware guides, camera FOV setup, etc.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for managing compute units across stores.
• Coordinated pilots and roll-outs during our scale-up stage, and went personally to many of the stores to manage product installations, test performance and build customer relationships.
• Led our Euroshop 2023 exhibition: planning, hardware, software, networking, and presenting demos.

• Startup from UCL. First and, at times, only employee. Built the initial MVP for detecting botnets based on Gradient Boosting (fake account classification) and BERT (tweet similarity). Data crawling and monitoring using Selenium.

• Trayzi (later became Checklens): We built a fully automated checkout for IKEA. I did Computer Vision for plate detection, dish classification and portion estimation (mostly Tensorflow, training Retinanet and Resnet models). Also deployment in embedded devices via TF Serving and C++; Evals and Active Learning.
• Corrux (acquired by Gropyus): I did failure prediction in factory machines based on Decision Trees and LSTMs.
• Bleenco (MIT+TUM spin-off): I built an MVP on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) detection in factories. It landed us a contract with BASF, the largest chemical company in the world.
