About

Hi 👋, I’m Danni, a pharmacist-turned-analytics professional who’s passionate about turning messy, complex data into stories people can understand and creating tools people can use. I started out as a pharmacist, then moved into pharmacovigilance and clinical research (operations), before transitioning into commercial analytics. I bring a rare blend of scientific expertise, business understanding, and technical skills. I’ve worked across sales, marketing, medical, and ops, doing dashboards, segmentation, forecasting, reporting, and incentive design. Whether I’m building dashboards for a product launch, streamlining field force reporting, or leading an analytics project, I focus on making data practical, human, and impactful. 💬 I speak both "data" and "business," often acting as the translator that connects the two. 📣 I also create content to share what I’ve learned, helping others grow in data literacy and confidence. What I bring: 🔘 Domain fluency in healthcare & pharma 🔘 Strength in visualisation, automation, and insight storytelling 🔘 A knack for bridging teams and simplifying complexity What drives me is making data something people can work with, learn from and put to work.

Senior Manager Tableau Developer

Apr 2024Apr 2026 · 2 yrs · Melbourne, VIC · Remote

  • At Gilead, I develop and manage Tableau dashboards that help teams across commercial, medical, and operations turn data into clear, actionable insights. These dashboards support everything from brand performance tracking to business reviews and field-level reporting.
  • I work closely with stakeholders throughout the dashboard development process, from understanding reporting needs to building and testing solutions, incorporating feedback, and training end users. I also maintain and improve existing dashboards to ensure they continue to meet evolving business needs.
  • Improving reporting efficiency has been a major focus. What used to take cross-functional teams one to two days to prepare for business reviews can now be done under an hour, freeing up analysts and business leads to focus on insight, not data wrangling.
  • Beyond dashboards, I support the integration of ANZ data into global cloud platforms, streamlining data pipelines and improving alignment with global initiatives. This enables local dashboards and reports to draw on shared datasets, supporting both local and company-wide projects.
  • I also collaborate with global data and analytics teams to help shape data products and globally driven BI solutions, such as omnichannel dashboards that support insights across markets.
  • ⚙️ Impact: Reduced business review reporting from 2 days per month to under 1 hr; improved data availability across local and global use cases.
  • 🔧 Tools & Tech: Tableau, Tableau Prep, Tableau Server, Power Query, AWS Cloud, Starburst, Jira

Data & Analytics Content Creator & Educator

May 2022Present · 4 yrs · Sydney, New South Wales, Australia · On-site

  • In my spare time, I blog and create content about data, analytics, and AI. What began as a way to document my learning and growth has become a platform to share knowledge and make data topics more accessible to others.
  • My content is aimed at helping people improve their data literacy, understand the value of data, and feel more confident working with data in real-world settings. I’m also passionate about bridging the gap between data/technical teams and business teams by shedding light on both perspectives and encouraging better communication between the two.
  • From blog articles and LinkedIn posts to short-form content on Instagram, I explore topics like data visualisation, analytics tools, data storytelling, and the broader world of data and AI.
  • I also share my experience of moving from healthcare into data, hoping it will encourage others from non-technical backgrounds who are either making a similar change or thinking about getting into this field.
  • I find a lot of joy in learning new things and in turning complex (or sometimes dull) topics into something simple, human, and even a bit fun so that more people feel empowered and inspired to use data in meaningful ways.

Data Analytics & Project Manager

Promoted

Mar 2022Apr 2024 · 2 yrs 1 mo · Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

  • This role was a natural next step. I continued to support core commercial analytics functions, from reporting, segmentation, and incentive modelling to dashboard development, but with a stronger focus on leading projects and helping global strategies land locally.
  • I partnered with the Global Data Science & AI team on projects like marketing mix analysis, often playing the role of translator, making sure the team had the information they needed to run the models, and that the outputs made sense locally and were usable for the business.
  • Here are a few key projects I led:
  • 🔘Incentive Management System Implementation
  • We needed a better way to manage sales incentives, something scalable, auditable, and less reliant on manual work. I led the project end to end:
  • → Secured stakeholder buy-in
  • → Managed vendor selection and worked closely with legal and procurement
  • → Oversaw configuration, testing, and integration
  • → Planned and delivered training, rollout, and change management
  • ⚙️Impact: Reduced admin load, improved transparency, and gave the business a system that worked the way they needed it to.
  • 🔘 Patient Support Program Analytics
  • Enrollment in a long-running patient support program had declined. I reviewed program activities and conducted an in-depth analysis to identify trends and possible drivers.
  • ⚙️Impact: Provided visibility into where key changes had occurred and supported a strategic decision to re-engage previously successful channels.
  • 🔘 Unlocking Value from Data
  • We had valuable datasets that weren’t being fully leveraged. I took a deep dive to explore patterns in prescribing behaviour, sales opportunity, and treatment switching.
  • ⚙️Impact: Delivered insights that informed business planning and gave teams a deeper view of patient and clinician behaviour.

Promoted

Jan 2021Feb 2022 · 1 yr 1 mo · Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

  • In this role, I deepened my experience in data and analytics, supporting commercial operations, leading end-to-end projects, and working with the Global Data Science & AI team to localise global initiatives for ANZ market.
  • I provided backup across reporting, targeting, incentive modelling, and territory planning, while also delivering initiatives that improved how data was accessed, used, and shared across the business:
  • 🔘 Local (ANZ) Automated BI Solution
  • With existing resources, a colleague and I developed a local BI solution to replace slow and inconsistent reporting. I focused on automation and visualisation using global data sources, streamlined data flows, and Tableau dashboards.
  • ⚙️Impact: Improved data visibility, reduced manual workload, and gave the Commercial Excellence team more time to focus on strategy.
  • 🔘 Launch Dashboard
  • One of our key launch objectives required tracking complex milestones, but progress reporting was fragmented and manual. Our team identified an opportunity to streamline this by standardising data capture through the CRM. I designed and developed a Tableau dashboard to monitor progress in a central, visual format, improving visibility and alignment across teams.
  • ⚙️Impact: Boosted visibility, aligned sales and marketing on actual progress, and received praise from local and regional teams for its clear, practical and appealing design.
  • 🔘 Tableau Training for APAC Analysts
  • I led monthly Tableau training sessions (1–1.5 hrs) for APAC analysts, covering tailored content, live walkthroughs, and hands-on tips on dashboard design, visual best practices, and workflow efficiency.
  • ⚙️Impact: Uplifted Tableau capability across the region, enabling teams to build clearer dashboards, interpret data more confidently, and work more efficiently and effectively.
  • 🔧Tools & Platforms: Tableau, Tableau Prep, Tableau Server, Collibra, Snowflake

Sales Force Excellence Analyst

Dec 2019Dec 2020 · 1 yr · Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

  • This was my first foray into analytics and it quickly became a crash course in sales data, commercial operations, and building things that made a real difference to how teams worked.
  • I supported sales and marketing across target setting, territory planning, quarterly activity planning, customer segmentation, incentive tracking and reporting, translating large datasets into practical tools and insights. I worked with Veeva Align, Veeva Promomat, Salesforce CRM, IQVIA MiPortal & national prescribing data sources, often simplifying complex processes into something usable.
  • A few key projects I worked on:
  • 🔘 Sales Incentive Payout Curve Modelling
  • Built a dynamic Excel model to test payout curve changes, used by leadership to guide incentive design and budget decisions.
  • ⚙️Impact: Enabled more informed, data-backed decisions around incentive design, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
  • 🔘 Forecasting for New Product Launches
  • Created two forecasting models for two oncology products, including a complex pan-tumour use, under tight timelines. Collaborated with global, regional, and market access teams.
  • ⚙️Impact: The models supported the business case development and resource planning. Senior brand managers praised the models as being stronger than many they had seen from seasoned analysts.
  • 🔘 Global Dashboard UAT & Rollout
  • Inherited a global dashboard rollout that had gone off track in APAC due to a lack of testing structure. I, along with the Region Analytics Manager, helped bring it back on track by designing a clear UAT process, testing scripts, bug tracking, and rollout content. Supported the onboarding of commercial team users across ANZ.
  • ⚙️Impact: Re-engaged regional stakeholders and support teams on testing in APAC, and ensured the dashboards were adopted within the Australian business.

Senior Contract Budget Specialist embedded in Bayer

Nov 2018Nov 2019 · 1 yr

  • I didn’t know it then, but this role was quietly setting me up for my future in data.
  • At Bayer, I managed the contracts and financials behind clinical trials - drafting, negotiating, and finalising agreements with suppliers and trial sites across Australia and New Zealand. I supported the clinical operations team with budget planning, forecasting, and financial tracking and payment throughout the lifecycle of each trial.
  • Alongside this, I was studying a postgraduate degree in Applied Finance. While I was working on trial budgets during the day, I was deep in assignments on financial modelling, forecasting, and risk analysis at night, skills that would later become the building blocks of my transition into analytics.
  • I also introduced a few process improvements along the way, shifts that sped up trial site initiation and helped reduce delays, saving time for teams and improving operational efficiency.
  • Looking back, it was the perfect mix of real-world financial experience, process thinking, and problem-solving — all things I now apply every day in my analytics work.

Clinical Research Associate embedded in Bayer

Jan 2016Jul 2017 · 1 yr 6 mos

  • I wasn’t in this role for long, but I got to see more than most do in twice the time.
  • At Bayer, I managed clinical trial sites across Australia and New Zealand from major city hospitals to regional centres. The studies I worked on were in immunology and cardiovascular disease, and I supported them from start-up all the way through to close-out.
  • I handled everything you'd expect: pre-trial assessments, ethics submissions, site activations, patient recruitment, monitoring, database lock, and close-out activities. I was the sponsor’s main contact for several sites, making sure everything stayed compliant, on schedule, and aligned with study protocol.
  • My sites were well-run, well-documented, and free of major issues. I built strong relationships with site staff and always kept things clear, organised, and under control.
  • Clinical trials usually take years. In a short time, I got to be hands-on through every phase. That experience sharpened how I work: structured, precise, and always a few steps ahead.

Drug Safety Specialist

Oct 2013Jun 2015 · 1 yr 8 mos · Sydney, Australia · On-site

  • Pharmacovigilance is about protecting patients and that responsibility sat at the core of everything I did in this role.
  • At Novartis, I was responsible for monitoring the safety of both marketed products (in specialty care and dermatology) and products in clinical trials. My job was to make sure any potential safety signals were picked up early, documented properly, and followed through with care.
  • That meant handling the full scope of safety case management, from detecting and assessing adverse events, to processing and documenting cases, and contributing to strategies that helped prevent future risks. I worked closely with local teams and global safety units to ensure everything was aligned with regulatory requirements and timelines.

Consultant Pharmacist

Mar 2013Mar 2015 · 2 yrs · Sydney, New South Wales, Australia · On-site

  • This role took me beyond the pharmacy counter into homes, aged-care facilities, and real conversations with patients and doctors.
  • As a Clinical Pharmacist, I conducted comprehensive medication reviews for patients in the community and residential aged-care settings. My job was to understand their full medication history, assess for potential issues, and suggest optimisations that could improve health outcomes.
  • I worked closely with GPs to provide feedback and practical recommendations from reducing unnecessary medications to addressing adherence challenges and side effects. Every review was about more than just checking boxes; it was about helping someone feel better, live safer, and manage their treatment with more clarity.
