I work at the intersection of data, AI, and governance — which right now happens to be where many organizations are quietly breaking things. By day I’m a Global Partner Solutions Engineer at Atlan, working with companies to operationalize data governance across modern platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, and the broader data stack. Across dozens of real-world implementations, I’ve seen the same pattern repeat itself: AI rarely fails because of the model. It fails because no one governed the context feeding the model. The industry spends a lot of time talking about prompts, agents, and models. Far fewer teams are thinking seriously about metadata, lineage, trust, and control — the systems that actually determine whether AI outputs are reliable. That gap — between powerful AI systems and the data foundations underneath them — is where I spend most of my time. Most recently, I built a financial services compliance demo showing how semantic governance can prevent AI errors in regulated data pipelines — stopping a production-level mistake before it ever reached a model. Outside of my work at Atlan, I occasionally advise teams on practical AI governance: how to design GenAI systems that are auditable, explainable, and safe to operate in regulated environments, particularly in industries like financial services. I’m also a builder at heart. I spend a lot of time experimenting with MCP integrations, agentic workflows, and self-hosted AI infrastructure. My belief is simple: the people who truly understand how these systems work in practice — not just on slides — are the ones who can help organizations deploy them responsibly. AI adoption is accelerating quickly. Governance is still catching up.
