About

I'm a full-stack software engineering leader, currently on the New Global Segments team in Remitly's Growth org, where I'm the single threaded leader for payment recommendations and price benefit merchandising architecture. At Remitly, in addition to my feature work focus, I'm championing company-wide initiatives to dramatically reduce defect rates, improve service stability & latency, unlock parallel development initiatives, streamline early product development through automated workflows, and raise the bar on operational excellence. I main Typescript, Go & Java and have additional experience in PHP, Kotlin, and Python. My specialty is rapid onboarding to new business domains, languages, and frameworks - and, more importantly, teaching others how to do the same. Previously at Remitly, I led the Global Network Operations team as an Engineering Manager, where I focused on ensuring financial network quality and performance by building self-service tooling that allowed non-technical business stakeholders to monitor and rapidly fix configuration issues that directly affected customer experiences, and reduced the lead time on expanding disbursement options from 30 days to 30 seconds. Before joining Remitly, I was a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, working on machine learning platforms and post-order data & telemetry. Before Amazon, from 2015 - 2020 I was COO & Acting CTO of a tech-centric videogame talent management company profiled in the New Yorker's 2017 Tech Issue. I built project management, accounting, and machine learning software to organize influencer campaigns & provide management support to videogame influencers in the streaming & VOD content verticals.
