  • I had a staff of 40 reporting to me and the revenue plan for 2002 was USD28 million. Being part of a matrix organisation, I reported to the ASEAN Software GM and also the Asia Pacific Vice President of DB2.
  • My main responsibility during my first 6 months in IBM was to ensure the integration of Informix is smooth and properly aligned with IBM s structure and business model. This was completed successfully with all local Country Managers been appointed by the beginning of 2002. The team over achieved the revenue target of USD28million.
  • Subsequently, I was appointed the Malaysian Country Manager of IBM Software group. I reported to the local Country GM and to the ASEAN Software GM. In the first year I performed reasonably well, achieving 90% of plan and a revenue exceeding USD33m. I was responsible for Rational, Websphere, Db2, Tivoli and the LOTUS brands.
  • In 2004, I was reappointed Regional Manager for Database reporting to the ASEAN Regional GM and the ASIA Pacific VP for Db2. My key achievement was the major growth in India and Thailand’s Db2 market achieving 103% of plan. I then left IBM for NEC.

  • In August 2001, I was appointed Regional Manager for Db2 business, and remained as MD for Informix Malaysia upto end of 2001.
