• I joined the Search Relevancy and Recommendations team within the Search Development group. This team focuses on the quality of the results that come back from the Search services by focusing on relevancy algorithms and building recommendation engine to help matching between job seekers and jobs as well as recruiters’ needs and resumes. My supervisor during this internship was Trey Grenger who is the manager of the search development technology at CareerBuilder. He is the author of the book "Solr in Action" http://www.manning.com/grainger/. My tasks focused on creating a behavioral user profile by using Data Mining and Big Data Analytics techniques. To achieve this goal I worked on the following algorithms:
• 1- Crowd Based Recommendations
• 2- Latent Semantic Indexing
• 3- K-NN classification
• The technologies I used to implement the Data Mining and Data Analytics techniques are:
• 1- Apache Hive
• 2- Apache Hadoop
• 3- Cloudera Hue
• 4- Apache Solr
• During this internship I gave two presentations, one with my supervisor about Machine Learning and the other one was an introduction to Map/Reduce programming using Hadoop framework.
• The results of the projects i have implemented during this internship are awesome and part of it has been already used in the production.

• Designed and implemented GELATO the semi-automated MS annotation tool. GELATO is built upon the open source projects GlycoWorkbench and EuroCarbDB. This tool is the first FREE tool that allows the semi-auto annotation of high-throughput MSn data. GELATO is integrated within GRITS-Toolbox as the annotation module. • Designed and implemented the front end and back end of the Isobol Curator. Isobol Curator is a scientific tool designed to help the scientists in the glycomics community to create, interact with, and view isobols which refers to Glycans of the same mass and structural features. • Led a team to re-design and implement OrthoMCL workflow over Hadoop.
• Led a team of 2 PhD students and 2 masters students and successfully designed and implemented a workflow to study the conservation score of the N-Glycosylation sites in any protein family.
• Worked as a key developer on EuroCarbDB project for Complex Carbohydrate Research Center CCRC (http://code.google.com/p/ucdb/). The technologies used in this project: (Java, Hibernate, Freemarker, and PostgreSQL).
• Worked as a key developer on Glycovault project for CCRC. The technologies used in this project: ( Java, JSON, PostgreSQL, UML, JUnit).
