About

I've spent 23 years building and running engineering organisations, mostly in environments where the stakes were real: high-compliance payments infrastructure, GDPR, FATF and AML regulatory frameworks, greenfield GCC setup, and early-stage ventures where everything is on the line. My experience spans both sides. Building from zero across healthtech, privacy technology, and fintech. Operating at scale in high-compliance B2B environments. Scaling cross-cultural teams across India, UK, US, and Denmark. Along the way I noticed that most engineering leaders face the same hard problems: adopting AI without getting burned, measuring what actually matters in engineering productivity, and building teams that stay. I wrote two books on these topics, one on engineering culture and DORA metrics, one on AI infrastructure evaluation, because I wanted to put a practical framework in the hands of leaders who were navigating these decisions without one. Open to discussions on senior engineering leadership, architecture, and AI strategy.

  • MediMinds is a healthcare technology startup building AI-powered SaaS products to automate clinical workflows and improve patient engagement.
  • As co-founder and CTO, I own the technical direction, engineering organisation, and product architecture. This is a builder role: I set the roadmap, hire the team, and stay hands-on with the platform.
  • Defined an 18-month operating plan covering technical roadmap, hiring strategy, budget, and enterprise customer ramp; presented to investors
  • Built the engineering organisation from scratch, recruiting and onboarding 25 professionals
  • Established an AI-first engineering culture: gave every developer a $50/month budget to adopt any AI tooling they chose, driving team-wide adoption of Cursor, Claude and Azure AI services
  • Integrated Azure Speech and Azure AI Document Intelligence to automate clinical document processing and patient engagement workflows
  • Conducted build-vs-buy analysis for GenAI solutions, evaluating GPT-4, Claude, and Llama against cost, latency and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Implemented shift-left security practices including automated NuGet vulnerability scanning, detecting and remediating CVEs before production exposure
  • Designed SaaS platform architecture using sliced architecture patterns and Fast-Endpoints over ASP.NET, optimising for maintainability and long-term performance

  • In addition to my continued engineering responsibilities, I took on full operational ownership of the India entity, establishing it as November First's engineering delivery hub.
  • Established the India GCC from the ground up: company formation and compliance, office search and negotiation, equipment agreement, local HR partnerships, outsourced payroll with a CA firm and ongoing vendor management
  • Built and scaled a 10-engineer team with industry-leading under 7% attrition and 40% cost optimisation vs the onshore model
  • Led cloud migration to Azure, leveraging weekend non-trading windows to achieve zero-downtime cutover, unlocking async and event-driven architecture for core payment flows
  • Managed stakeholder relationships with Denmark HQ across engineering, product, and executive leadership

  • November First operates a B2B payment processing platform serving 250+ merchants across Nordic markets, processing 100M DKK in daily transaction volume under GDPR, AML and FATF compliance frameworks.
  • As lead engineer, I owned the core platform technically end-to-end across architecture, delivery, and compliance infrastructure.
  • Built the FATF screening system from scratch: automated detection of payments to blacklisted entities using regularly updated sanctions lists, achieving 99.99% compliance with GDPR, AML and FATF standards
  • Eliminated deployment failures by implementing TeamCity and Octopus Deploy, reducing deployment time from 60 minutes to 5-10 minutes with full automation
  • Introduced Azure Event Hubs and Azure Functions to replace synchronous payment flows with event-driven, eventually consistent architecture
  • Operated within a Domain Driven Design codebase, owning bounded contexts across payment processing, merchant onboarding and compliance
