About

Hello, I am Sachin Beejawat, an undergraduate student at IIT Jodhpur. My major is in Mechanical Engineering with courses on Finance and Economics. Interested in applying data analytics and problem-solving skills to solve real-world complex business problems. My strength lies in deep perseverance and critical thinking and a consistent vigour to learn. I hold a decent academic with currently ranked third in Mechanical Engineering Class of 2020 at IITJ I recently completed an internship with a Quantitative research firm "Quantify Capital" where I was involved with writing quantitative trading algorithms in python to sell OTM call and put options at different confidence intervals to generate alpha along with the application of appropriate risk management strategies to reduce maximum draw-down I had also done two research internships in the past (TCS R&D Pune and IIT Ropar) both of which resulted into research papers which are published in reputed journals (Renewable Energy ( IF : 8.001) and Transaction of IIM ( IF : 1.176) ( Link to papers : https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Sachin_Beejawat) I would define myself as a detail-oriented Technocrat with a demonstrated history of working in the areas of Finance, Analytics, Research and Product Development. Skilled in Business Analytics, Numerical Analysis and Engineering tools like C++, SQL and Python. When not working, I can be found playing and watching cricket. I love watching thrillers and learning new things. I also love to read autobiographies and to know more about history.

  • Conducted in-depth tick data analysis of market microstructure using custom Bash scripts and Python, resulting in the development of predictive options pricing models achieving 58-68% directional accuracy.
  • Researched and developed custom indicators in C++ to enhance the performance of pricing models and improve signal prediction accuracy.
  • Designed robust trading signals by combining models across multiple time horizons, integrating them with market-making execution strategies through parameter optimization and rigorous backtesting against historical data.
  • Designed an order quoting logic integrated with an adaptive dynamic modeling technique, implemented using ultra-low latency C++ execution in a Linux environment, achieving a tick-to-order latency of approximately 1–1.5 microseconds.
  • Developed and implemented advanced risk management techniques, including options Greeks hedging and position sizing, resulting in a 12% reduction in drawdowns.
  • Developed and executed live trading strategies for weekly expiry options on the National Stock Exchange (NSE India) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), consistently generating profits for the company.

  • Work done as a part of internship titled "Silicone oil envelope for enhancing the performance of nanofluid-based direct absorption solar collectors" published in Journal of Renewable Energy, Elsevier ( IF: 8.001) (Link: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.renene.2019.08.024)
  • Guide - Dr Himanshu Tyagi
  • Tasks :
  • Worked on two projects-
  • (1) Investigating the effect of thin-film of silicone oil on nanofluid based solar collectors: Results were observed on experimental setup and then verified numerically using CFD solver (COMSOL). Approximately 17% increase in maximum Temperature was as compared to without the use of silicone oil.
  • (2) Study of the effect of mass fraction and flow rate on Nanofluid-based solar collector: This was an experimental study to find the optimum mass fraction and flow rate that would result in a maximum temperature rise at the outlet of spiral collector.
