Workclout | quality management platform

Senior Software Engineer

Sep 2019Nov 2021 · 2 yrs 2 mos · Los Angeles, California, United States

  • WorkClout is a Y-Combinator company specialized in helping manufacturers streamline their quality and safety processes. I joined as their second engineer at the seed stage to lead the web application development and later on contributed to the mobile application and backend development.
  • My projects and responsibilities include:
  • Main driver and engineer on the WorkClout web portal. The WorkClout web portal is a real-time application allowing managers to have visibility and employees to collaborate in real-time.
  • Built the first prototype for the web application experience. This included proposing the tech stack, architecture, and infrastructure.
  • Prototype features for growth closely with the Produce manager.
  • Contributed to building features outside the web portal. This included mobile, backend, and database implementations.
  • Built the internal company design system; used Styled-Components. I also created a Storybook catalog to improve the dev experience.
  • Maintained a high standard of performance across the user-facing products: The goal was always to maintain 60 fps performance on web and mobile, which I achieved using React dev tools, Chrome Profiler, and Flipper to get there.
  • Notable Accomplishments:
  • Built a highly customizable, grid-based form template builder.
  • Built a server-rendered, SEO-friendly form templates marketplace using NextJs.
  • Built a spreadsheet like component with the ability to execute functions and reference other context data on web and mobile.
  • Establish a PDF export system using Node, Handlebars, and HTML-pdf.
  • Built a reporting dashboard using CubeJs, PostgreSQL, and Recharts.
  • Tools used:
  • React, React-native, TypeScript, styled-components, storybook, jest, Node, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Hasura, CubeJs, Apollo, NextJs
