Picked up LinkedIn as a playbook (which I will scale in the next job) and found a friend/boss in one. Learned about content creation as I was surrounded by teachers and content creators

• Now this was the role that changed my life. I was known to be a creative person (lots of theatre) in my undergrad which led Deepi (my classmate) to offer me this role. Mohit who joined from GoFro whole heartedly supported the decision when it was being mulled over. This was the second time Mohit gave me a push. Completely changed my life. I couldnt even imagine that I was going to lead marketing for a going-to-be-public company and will learn so much about myself.
• Shot with Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Allu Arjun, Anirudh Ravinchander and also was lucky enough to make 'Jalebi Baby' integration happen. It was pure luck that it went live a day before the IPO went live. I cant take credit for the timing :) The producers happened to release it that day

• Nothing much happened here. Was probably a dull period of the career. Launched a contactless dining product (ordering thru QR codes at tables) which failed terribly. Somehow couldnt manage global teams well. The dynamics were too strange.

Feb 2020 – May 2020 · 3 mos

• Got into this role and COVID lockdown happened. Was lucky to come up with the idea of the ration distribution drive which became the biggest food distribution drive in the country and it took me to major news channels in the country. Pure luck! Right place at the right time.

• This was the time when I managed the largest team of my career. Celebrated getting ahead of the competition in terms of market share

• Do you know how I got this role? Mohit from GoFro joined Zomato and convinced my boss (Mohit's ex boss from Makemytrip) that I could handle this role. This was a massive massive thing in my career. Took zomato to 500+ cities within 8 months. Had an incredible team, the team that taught me a lot. This was the time when my team kind of managed me and pulled me ahead. One of my team members, Devendra, will go on to get me the role of a lifetime.

• My first job after my MBA. Was hired by Mohit who goes on to change my life for good in the next job. Really loved being here. The spring in the step I had was just incredible. Couldnt raise the next round, had to shut shop and was heart-broken. It felt like someone who I deeply loved was taken away. Never thought I'd find love again. As the luck had it, I found love multiple times again

• Moved to Mumbai with family to start a production house. Couldnt believe the first day I woke up in Mumbai. Went through the toughest time of my career. But this period taught me massive resilience, gave me time to work on my health. Ran 5k almost everyday and this period got me ready for the hustle ahead. It made me realise that **** can always hit the fan. One needs to work hard always.
• I now believe that these periods are the most rewarding periods and are part of God's design

• My first take at Branding. Seeds were being sown here. Moved into this role because I didnt enjoy trading anymore and didnt want to quit because my daughter was about to be born so had become massively risk averse. Traveled across the breadth and width of the country to recruit from campus. Hired one person during this stint who I will be working for in a few years. During this time, my daughter was born and I was getting ready for the terrible period ahead

Jan 2006 – Jul 2011 · 5 yrs 6 mos

• I cant believe I spent 5+ years in an Individual Contributor role. Interestingly enough I was one of the most creative traders out there. I wasnt a brilliant trader, just good enough. I was managing P&L of $1Bn (notional) portfolio. Made good friends, made some money (not as much as traders make these days) that was still decent as compared to the previous job. Those were good days. During this time found my life partner, dated for 3 years and got married within this period.

• My first job. I was a much different person then. Can't believe I survived with that salary in Mumbai. Didnt enjoy the projects I was on. I dont think I was fit for consulting. It wasnt them, it was me.
