Masters Thesis Project : Worked under Prof. Tamal Pal on Image Processing for implementing Image Processing Techniques for Redundancy Reduction Of Image Data.
Performed a literature survey on the existing works done in the field of image processing.
Proposed an algorithm and compared with the existing methods using six metrics :-
Simulation Time.
Mean Sqaure error (MSE).
Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR).
Compression Ratio.
Compression Factor.
Percentage Similarity to Original.
The existing methods are EZW Method, DCT Method and DWT Method being considered.
The entire simulation was done on Python Compiler with 20 images taken as image datasets, collected from online resources.
The proposed method gave better results for all the five evaluation metrics, except for the simulation time (faster than EZW Method but slower than the DWT Method and DCT Method).
