About

I am a Computer Science PhD candidate at Stanford University, working at the Medical AI and Computer Vision Lab (MARVL) led by Professor Serena Yeung. My thesis is focused on leveraging the power of multi-modal foundation models to build expert agents for biomedical image analysis and interpretation. While LLMs and LVMs have shown impressive results on general purpose tasks, they perform poorly when applied to specialized domains such as biomedicine. My research addresses this limitation by developing efficient methods for domain specific grounding and alignment to generate factually accurate and verifiable outputs. My goal is to advance the state-of-the-art in Computer Vision and AI for healthcare and life sciences. Looking forward, I'd like to explore how advances in Gen-AI and Foundation Models could be used to improve productivity in enterprise applications, as they represent a distinct departure from traditional ML based approaches. Leveraging my coursework at Stanford's Graduate School of Business and my experience as a DeepTech Fellow at Clear Ventures, I aim to document this shift and equip business leaders with the requisite background on foundation models - their capabilities, limitations, risks, and costs. If you are a key decision-maker in your organization and want to chat about potential use cases, I would be happy to chat! I've also written extensively about how to navigate grad school admissions, from shortlisting to funding opportunities. If you are a potential applicant, please check out my featured posts (https://lnkd.in/gpfkJ_fg) - they should answer most of your questions about applying. Due to a large volume of queries, I apologize for not being able to provide more personalized advice.
