The system was supposed to record the entry and exit of various hostel residents. The input for the system was obtained from the hardware machine (like metro machines) which gave the timestamp, hostelid and the activity(in/out) which was then used to keep track of the student's presence inside the hostel and was further used to estimate the food required to be prepared to avoid food wastage based on the number of students present in the hostel, at the end of the day.
