Hired as the first VP, Engineering after Sequoia’s $7.3 MN Series-A investment. I scaled engineering team from 10 to ~40 and setup development process for, predictable, high velocity & quality deliverables. I also initiated various technology initiatives to rearchitect and scale technology platform and CI/CD pipeline for performance and fast delivery.

Small customer base spanned across India, Singapore and USA.

• Early member of Tact Platform team. Held Multiple Roles over the years. Responsible for Tact’s Core & Conversational AI Platform, working with a team of amazing engineers. Worked with different teams on Server-Side Email Infrastructure, AWS-SWF based Distributed Workflow Management Infrastructure, Secure Enterprise Grade Data Vault (with BYOK support), Conversational Multi Language AI Platform, Tact CRM and many other initiatives. Post Series-C in 2018, I moved from Silicon Valley to India to build Tact’s India Development Center from scratch. Established the center, collaborated with HQ on challenging hiring goals and set a performance driven culture, hiring 45+ team members which constituted 50% of Tact’s global workforce.

• Architect for Master Calendar Platform, a unique Retail Product Lifecycle Management Platform, integrating it across all DemandTec products like Promotion Management, Price and Markdown Optimization dealing with huge amount of data. Managed a team of 8-10 people across California and Shanghai to deliver the product on time under tight delivery schedule.
• Helped re-architect Markdown and Price Optimization Platform for performance and scalability. DemandTec was acquired by IBM in early 2012 for $440 mn. As a key member of transition team, I stayed in IBM after acquisition for smooth transition.

• Designed and implemented multiple features for Ariba Strategic Sourcing application. Developed cross product integration framework with Common Data Server to synchronize data among upstream & downstream applications. Wrote a framework to help QA search information about stagers and validators at runtime for recording automated tests. Single point of contact for customer escalations related to Ariba Core Server.

• Designed and implemented a Java and XSLT based generic tool for generating EDI reports for default reporting. Contributed to the implementation of a complex bi-directional real time data replication mechanism between Progress & Oracle databases using TIBCO BusinessWorks. Also, contributed to the development of tools to monitor applications built on top of TIBCO product suite using TIBCO Hawk.
