Secured 2nd place all over the world, for two years in a row, in the Autonomous Navigation challenge in the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition,2018 and 2019. Also, were 1st to qualify the early qualification round.
IGVC 2018-19 challenge.
The task was to make an autonomous 4-wheeler to navigate along a grassy course avoiding the dense obstacles and following the lanes, switching between Computer-Vision based perception and GPS-way point navigation as per scenario.
Worked on Compute Vision module.
Pre-processing the camera-feed, using GPU-accelerated SLIC, mixed channel threshold, curve fitting , quadratic regression, MLESAC basic implementation, training a HOG based SVM model as an obstacle classifier.
