Harsh Motwani — Software Engineer
I made my first app when I was in the 9th grade. It was just a guide for a popular game, but it failed miserably - it just sold a couple dozen copies, and I made a loss of about 70 dollars. While it was sad at the time, it only convinced me that there was a lot that I needed to learn in order to develop high quality software. Fast forward a few years, and I made it to one of the most selective undergraduate Computer Science programs in the world at IIT Guwahati, excelled at competitive programming, worked on some cool applications, researched in the fields of Bioinformatics, Computer Architecture and Deep Learning, and worked on some awesome projects at Databricks, Microsoft Research and D. E. Shaw. Currently, I'm finishing up my Computer Science Master's degree at UCSD, and I'm working on a bioinformatics project with Sumit Walia (PhD student) and Prof. Yatish Turakhia. After finishing my Master's, I'm planning to join Databricks full time as a Software Engineer in the Photon team. My interests lie in Computer Systems and Algorithms, so feel free to discuss these areas with me.
