About

I am a software engineer, currently looking after ~4000 people Deepen AI India team, having built it from zero. I like to spend my time writing code. Hired and built 20+ top notch engineering team in India working on cutting edge computer vision algorithms and models, mostly related to autonomous vehicles. I also built profitable operations team to do complex lidar annotation tasks, in ~30 different locations. Responsible for reducing expenses, increasing productivity and keep jobs of all our people. In the past, I have worked for Google, Microsoft and a startup in both the US and India.

  • Demand side platform, Programmatic ads, Realtime bidding.
  • Founding member of the engineering team, started with a mission of bringing the right job closer to the user, through recruitment ads on internet. Our mission is to use machine learning to predict user's likely interests in various jobs, and show him/her right ads from our clients' recruitment ads. I took part in coming up with product vision, designing the architecture, building the product from scratch. Also took part in building the engineering team from scratch, being part of sourcing candidates and hiring decision making. I am part of the team that built a highly scalable product to serve our product vision. We used state of the art functional programming languages including Scala, NoSql databases, key-value stores, public cloud, agile tools, enterprise load balancers for our product. Part of the job is to understand and implement machine learning algorithms and data science techniques, to power our smart machine optimized job distribution engine.

  • Android.
  • Project Fi Super network.
  • Worked on full stack comprising of Android platform, android app and server side storage and apis. On the platform, worked mainly on telephony code, designed and implemented new platform public APIs. Project Fi is Google's MVN(Mobile Virtual Network) and provides a super network of multiple telephony carriers and WiFi networks to provide seamless and automatic switching between different networks for best possible connectivity at a location and time. Worked on Project Fi app to consume android apis and implement dynamic switching between carriers based on current location of the device and observed quality of the networks. Switching is robust enough to work in all possible scenarios, and is at the heart of Project Fi super network. I am the co-inventor of the main patent(GP-24077-00-US led) that powers Project Fi core switching algorithm. Switching algorithm that chooses the best possible network at a location, works both independent from the quality data from the server when there is no connectivity and also dependent on the quality data from the server when there is connectivity. Thus, it uses data from multiple sources, observed from the device, and from server, to decide the best network to use at a location. Observed quality data from the devices on the eld is aggregated at the server and the server makes it available for other devices to make best network decisions on the eld. Worked with various SIM technologies, SIM vendors, carrier partners to enable integration with new carrier partners's mobile networks. Setup SMS and MMS integration between Google and T-Mobile and Sprint networks in USA. Proficient in SMS, MMS protocols and UICC technology.

  • Google Compute Engine
  • Google Compute Engine (GCE) is an Infrastructure as a Service product announced by Google at Google I/O in June, 2012. Google Compute Engine is a service that provides hosting and management of virtual machines interconnected by virtual networks in Googles production environment. My work on GCE is concentrated on productionizing GCE by developing real-time monitoring system using Borgmon(Google proprietary technology) and load testing compute engine frontend to be ready for gold launch during Google I/O in May 2013. The monitoring system was needed to be scalable, fast, and have to monitor binaries which have various level of complexities. Few are storage dependent (like megastore, colossus), few are java (jvm monitoring), and some are networking binaries. GCE frontend exposes around 130 end points, each of these endpoints having different characteristics in terms of latency, traffic distribution and acceptable error rates. I also worked on moving cluster management servers, that manage virtual machines and the underlying megastore replica from one datacenter to
  • another datacenter while getting ready for shutdown of first datacenter. During my brief work on GCE, I gained in-depth understanding of Google's proprietary technologies like Borgmon, Borg, BigTable, Chubby, Colossus, Megastore, Spanner. I also gained familiarity with Java, C++, Python development environment at Google.

  • Windows 8 (Networking)
  • Development Environment : C/C++, Windows Presentation Framework(WPF), Powershell;
  • Part of the team in all three coding cycles of Windows 8 Development. Initially wrote unit tests to service code of Remote Access Management Service(newly introduced in windows 8). Later Worked on Graphical User Interface for Remote Access Management (Ramgmtui) using Windows Presentation Framework(WPF). After that, I worked on providing PowerShell cmdlet interface for managing demand dial network interfaces, that are used for connectivity between geographically separate enterprise locations and between the enterprise and service providers. We added support for new security protocol, to enable large organisations to connect securely to private subnets in a hosted cloud network. Altogether I had the experience of working on highly scalable, enterprise level applications, that run on Windows Server 2012.
