About

I am the founder School of Meaningful Experiences. My mission is to transform working professionals, managers, and entrepreneurs into authentic changemakers who command presence, influence positive change and create a meaningful impact. I love to teach, write, take long walks, watch movies, listen to classical piano, have dinner with my family, tell a story to my kids every night before they sleep, earn a fraction of what I used to but live a million times better. I wear multiple hats. Besides running a company in the education space, I am very lucky and grateful to teach at the best B-school Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, the best science school Indian Institute of Science, and the best liberal arts university of India, Ahmedabad University. I focus on leadership communication, executive presence and business storytelling. My courses also run on the IIMBx and Swayam platform. I hold a PhD in Leadership Communication from Cardiff Metropolitan University, an MBA from IIM Bangalore and a BE from National Institute of Karnataka Surathkal (erstwhile KREC). I have authored four books till now out of which "What to Say and When to Shut Up" is the most popular. My research explores how leaders use words to influence, persuade, guide, align, and energize their audiences. I also have a YouTube channel where I publish videos that answer variety of questions I get from my learners on the topic of influence, communication, leadership and some really fun stuff too - like my favorite movies, books, podcasts etc. I look forward to learning with you.

Adjunct Professor of Communication for Leaders and Business Communication

Jan 2011Present · 15 yrs 2 mos

  • The Art of Communication is the Language of Leadership. And this is what I teach in my courses and workshops. This topic is also my academic focus and my research interest. My courses focus on how a leader influences followers through words. I help my students to look at their communication through three different perspectives. At the end of the course, the students are able to think and design their communication to influence their audiences towards a positive outcome. My classes are full of role-plays, discussions and feedback so that the students get platform to practice and learn how to improve their own communication.
  • I recently launched my online course in the hope to help students around the world to speak with confidence. The course is called "Present with Confidence" and was created in partnership with a young startup of Bangalore called Chalkstreet. Access the course here http://aff.chalk.st/AFF56964X665
