• Created an Apache Spark module which allows you to read from any given (configurable) source, process your data in any way you want and write it to the desired output source. It is a wrapper which allows Python developers to use distributed in-memory processing techniques without knowing its internals.
• Explored the big data formats like Avro, parquet and converted file formats like json and csv into them using Spark which are highly optimized for distributed (big data) computations. Apart from this, they are space efficient due to having a high compaction ratio.
• Created hive table on top of Avro files stored in HDFS enabling data warehousing tasks such as extract/transform/load(ETL) via SQL.
