  • Worked in the Seller Experience team of Amazon.in. I worked previously in Payments Platform team of Amazon.com. I worked on designing and developing a new payment solution to the customers as well as sellers who integrate with Amazon. Contributed to "https://payments.amazon.com". I was responsible for taking the entire service to Production. I also removed a lot of risks and strengthen the service against any kind of faults, failures and attacks.
  • Worked on certifying web applications from security point of view by following coding best practices of sanitizing any user input for HTML tags as well as sanitizing all serialized JSON. Made sure that engineers enforce these standards during code reviews. Additionally, made use of code inspection tools like SonarQube to help us identify potential issues at build time.
  • Designed web application using React, because of its built-in protection against Cross Site Scripting (XSS).
  • Another possible threat is SQL injection. As with XSS attacks, the primary means of SQL injection is un-sanitized user input. We sanitized input both on the front end and on the back end of our application to mitigate against SQL injection.
  • Another security threat is a Directed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack. We used AppSync that has DDOS protection built-in. We used AWS Shield Advanced integrated into Route 53 and CloudFront to protect our front-end services. We placed all other resources (Lambdas, specifically to begin with, but other servers that we may have in the future) behind VPCs so that their IP addresses are private.
