• Role & Tech Stack: Played a pivotal role in migrating the Fullmetal pipeline to RTVE, employing Java, Spring, typescript and AWS services (ECS, VPC, SQS, CloudFormation). Proficiently conducted testing using JUnit and Mockito for code reliability.
• Key Achievements:
• IMR Reduction: Successfully transitioned three old producers to new batch producers using aws SQS, resulting in an impressive IMR reduction of $80K YOY.
• OE Reduction: Led the migration of six services to a CDK-managed pipeline, saving 10 weeks of SDE effort YOY. This encompassed critical tasks like scaling/descaling, alarm creation, dashboard creation, and host ordering.
• Environment Enhancement (EE): Post-migration, ensured all write pipelines aligned with the NAWS standard practice, contributing to a more standardized and efficient environment.
• New Field Addition: Implemented a schema-less architecture in the RTVE pipeline, significantly reducing the time required for adding fields in upstream messages—saving 2-3 weeks of SDE effort.
• Impact: This transformative project not only optimized costs but also enhanced the adaptability and efficiency of Mercury's services, contributing to the broader success of Amazon Transportation's analytics platform.
