At the time, I had over a year of experience working with home loan products, which gave me a certain level of confidence in understanding financial terms. However, when I took out a two-wheeler loan, I faced an unexpected challenge that opened my eyes to how easily confusion and miscommunication can occur, even with professionals in the field. The salesperson assured me the interest rate was 9%, which seemed reasonable. Trusting his explanation, I moved forward with the loan. But month later, when I received the official bank documents, I was shocked to discover the actual rate was 16%. Confused and seeking clarity, I immediately reached out to the salesperson. He explained that the 9% was the fixed rate, and that when calculated as a floating rate, it results in 16% and the floating rate, which is what the documents mention. Despite my experience in the financial sector, I was taken aback by the lack of clear communication. This experience made me realize that even those with industry knowledge can get lost in complex financial terms. It also made me think about how many others, especially those without a strong financial background, might face similar confusion when navigating loan products. This moment became a turning point for me. Rather than seeing it as just a personal challenge, I viewed it as an opportunity to make a broader impact. Buying a home is one of the most significant and emotional milestones in a person’s life. People deserve to have the clarity, transparency, and support they need to make informed decisions. This inspired me to launch PrePost, with the mission to simplify the home loan process and bring more transparency to the industry.
