About

Left my full-time job in 2019 with an international non-profit to setup a creative agency for nonprofits and conserve oral traditions from the Bhojpuri region. The aim is to capture and communicate stories for a cause because when told with heart, storytelling can help organisations amplify their impact. A social development professional with 14 years of a combined national and international experience in project management, journalism and documentary film making. Earlier full time roles have included promotion of pro bono legal work for NGOs in South Asia, program implementation with multiple partners, monitoring and evaluating projects, engaging with diverse stakeholders including non-profits, lawyers, government agencies. Speaker at 2018 Bangalore Literature Festival for my work on conservation of folk music and its connection with indentured migration. Winner of the Best Music Documentary Award at The Royal Anthropological Institute Film Festival, 2021 in United Kingdom for my feature length documentary film 'In Search of Bidesia'. The bidesia project

  • The Bidesia Project (TBP) is a not for profit initiative that aims to conserve Bhojpuri folk culture by archiving, reviving and promoting oral music traditions. TBP works with folk musicians from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to ensure that the age-old folk songs, part of India’s oral tradition, are conserved.
