Yashica Patodia is a final year Undergraduate in the Computer Science engineering department at IIT Kharagpur. Yashica has also held several leadership positions at IIT Kharagpur such as Executive Head of the Kharagpur Open Source Society and Women's Representative for the Computer Science Engineering Department. Her strong communication and interpersonal skills have enabled her to expand her comfort zone by foraying well into different domains. Yashica has had several enriching internship experiences at Google, the University of British Columbia, the Indian School of Business, and early-age startups AlgoZenith and Early Steps Academy. She was one of the top 3 students on campus who bagged a Google Internship in 2nd year and received a pre-internship offer and a pre-placement offer based on her exemplary performance. At the MITACS Global Research Internship at UBC, she single-handedly drove her project from scratch and co-authored a paper published in the Special issue of the Journal of Convex Analysis. After college, Yashica hopes to work in an intellectually stimulating environment characterized by a steep learning curve.

  • The project was on Financial Inclusion which analyzed the learning of a Business Correspondent in dealing with Aadhar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) transactions. It involved 9 million + transactions which spanned across 3 states namely Andhra Pradesh,Karnataka and Telengana over a time period of 5 years from 2015-2020.
  • Reported 100+ misdirected payments in 9M + transactions across 5 states using the pandas python library leading to social reforms.
  • Analyzed the learning of Business Correspondents since the advent of Aadhar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) transactions.
  • In the second half of the internship I worked under Mr Shamil Khedgikar in the Forest Management Project of Bharti Institute of public policy.

  • Built a PLX Dashboard to report all the non-compliant users which violate the TTL of 63 days according to User Data Access Policy (UDAP).
  • Designed and implemented the project in two phases. Firstly raised Warden alerts whenever the log sources violate the TTL. Secondly, built a Flume pipeline in c++ and productionized it by running it on Borg file.
  • Used GoogleSQL on F1 engine to query the output metrics needed to be displayed on the dashboard.
