Bala Amavasai — CTO

I am CTO for Industry Innovation at Celebal Technologies. I previously served as Chair for the IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, with additional responsibilities in data science and machine learning. In 2007 I was presented with the IEEE Outstanding Contributions award, and in 2017 the IEEE Exemplary Performance award. I also served on the EPSRC (UK government) Peer Review Panel and have served as an industrial adviser for several EPSRC Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs). E.g, I was an industrial adviser for the EPSRC CDT on AI, ML and Advanced Computing. I am a huge proponent of science and engineering and am generally available to share my experience. I have also delivered several talks to companies who want to take the AI journey, and am open to discussions. Previously, I was Global Technical Director at Databricks, leading the manufacturing, logistics and transportation vertical.
