Arpit Mishra — Software Engineer

I’m Arpit Mishra, a software engineer currently working at Zomato as an SDE 2, focused on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Developer Experience (DevEx). With a strong background in Linux, networking, and backend systems, I build tools and platforms that improve system stability, developer productivity, and deployment velocity. At Zomato, I’ve contributed to building Hawkeye—an infrastructure cost monitoring tool in Go, helped reduce preview environment deployment time by 70% using Docker caching, and built Local Preview using Go, Envoy, and SSH to simulate production behavior locally. I also played a key role in managing and improving our Kuma-based service mesh, building Kuma-Gateway to connect local environments to production safely. My work spans everything from incident management and infra provisioning to platform tooling and observability. I hold an Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech degree in Information Technology from IIIT Gwalior, where I also built side projects like AirMap—a pollution-monitoring IoT system using AWS IoT Core and DynamoDB. At Zomato, I’ve led efforts to migrate internal services from Kubernetes to ECS and developed multiple tools to make our Dev Platform faster and more reliable. I’ve won 1st place at Glance’s internal hackathon, 2nd place in Hackoween(Capture The Flag), and ranked among the top 100 in Hackerrank HackFest. I’m a 4-star CodeChef coder and secured AIR 5934 in GATE CS. In 2025, I’ll be speaking at KubeCon India on building scalable developer portals and service mesh tooling at Zomato—sharing real-world lessons on building resilient infra and local debugging tools in a microservices environment. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and exploring food—because great engineers are curious both in and out of code.
