• Developing Hotel Management System(HMS) Dashboard using tools and technologies such as HTML, CSS, jQuery, C#, .NET Core, GO, PostGreSQL, Google Cloud Platform(GCP), Kubernetes, Redis, Visual Studio.
• Migrated Monolithic C# APIs to Go-based Microservices, including Search, Prebook, Book and Cancel Booking APIs, improving scalability and performance:
• Search API: Implemented Rate Channel Discount logic for available rooms ensuring atleast 80% unit test coverage for new codes. The new microservice demonstrated a P99 latency of 1.5s compared to 2.7s in the old architecture during a 50 RPS load test.
• Prebook API: Replicated request and response models, implemented business logic related to prices, tax, discount, promotion, cancellation policy calculations.
• Book API: Led end-to-end development (90% solo contribution) including request validation, custom error codes, Channel Manager integration and email notifications for low inventory and successful booking.
• Cancel API: Developed the entire API from scratch, including features such as calculating cancellation fees, restoring inventory, and sending cancellation notifications via email to hoteliers and channel managers.
• Integrated Prometheus Metrics and created Grafana Dashboards with graphs such as Requests per sec(RPS), Average, P99, P95 Latencies, Requests Count(Success and Fail) for all the APIs to facilitate easy monitoring of downtime, spikes and errors.
• Built a shared GitLab repository with reusable modules (entities, data fetchers, filters, pricing workers), integrated as submodules across all the three services, reducing code redundancy by 40% and accelerating development.
• Migrated data and enhanced the dashboard to read and write from MongoDB instead of Postgres as part of a content unification
• exercise, realizing a cost saving of 20K Malaysian Ringgit(MYR) per month and reducing total costs by 59.42 percent.
