As a software developer at PTC, I have been involved in the critical task of converting files from various CAD formats into a lightweight viewable file format, which enables customers to share and collaborate on in-design models across the organization. I have also contributed to the creation of 3D mesh tessellations and lightweight viewable CAD files, which are essential for PTC CREO View, the company's Computer-aided design Visualizations. As a CAD File Conversion Engineer at PTC, my team was entrusted with the critical task of converting files from various CAD formats into a lightweight viewable file format. Our primary focus was on the conversion of files into the PTC proprietary PVS/OL file format, which allowed customers to share in-design models across the organization and collaborate to seek feedback. Additionally, we played a vital role in the creation of 3D mesh tessellations, generating files of different qualities, which served as an essential component in PTC Vuforia, the company's Augmented Reality product.
In our role, we collaborated closely with numerous teams within PTC, supporting various products such as Creo, CreoView, Windchill Publishing, and Vuforia. The CreoView Adapters, which we worked extensively with, formed an integral part of almost every PTC product. These adapters enabled seamless file conversion and compatibility across different software solutions, facilitating efficient communication and collaboration among users.
During my tenure, our team successfully introduced a complete cloud infrastructure for the CreoView Adapters, enhancing the scalability and accessibility of the file conversion process. This transition to the cloud allowed our customers to leverage the power of cloud computing, enabling faster and more efficient conversion of CAD files, regardless of their location or device.
In this role, I gained invaluable experience and expertise in CAD file conversion, specifically within the PTC ecosystem. I honed my skills in handling 3D mesh tessellations and creating files of various qualities to meet specific requirements.
