• The mission of Aidence is to give lung cancer patients a fighting chance. As a Senior Engineering Manager I've been leading a Product Engineering division (3 teams, ~20 people) responsible for designing and developing a set of AI capabilities and tools that enable doctors to diagnose lung cancer more effectively and reduce the toil of managing patients that require long term diagnostics and treatment support.
• My key achievements in this role include:
• building the foundation for the division: doubling the size of the team, setting processes around ownership and communication with other divisions;
• increasing frequency and quality of product releases – from one release every six months to one every six weeks;
• setting the DevOps fundamentals and improving engineering excellence practices in the teams: implementing observability across all products, setting on call / maintenance practices in order to reduce time to respond, mitigate and decrease number of outages, improving architecture and development processes and practices which resulted in reduction of incidents and bugs from daily occurrence to an infrequent annoyance.

• I've been responsible for building the foundations of Web Platform, Design Systems and Personalisation department (8 teams, ~40 people) as an essential part of the core Booking.com business:
• delivering tech strategy and MVP for platform that enables personalisation on the key pages of Booking.com;
• setting up Web Platform and Design Systems organisation: delivering technical strategy, designing the right organisation, recruiting and setting up the teams, setting up and executing on objectives.

• As a senior manager in Help Mediation domain (6 teams, ~30 people) I've been responsible for development and optimisation of products to provide customer support: building and optimising a central place to get help and enabling channels of communication (messaging, voice) with customer service and Booking.com partners.
• Throughout several years in the department I've managed to validate and scale the concept to a product that is used by ~70% of all customers that require help.

• As a Team Lead I was leading 2 teams of various roles that worked on applications and web platform in partner messaging area.
• Throughout my time in the role I've delivered a set capabilities that help hotels to communicate with their Booking.com customers either to follow up on their enquiries or to proactively share information about the accommodation – those tools have been validated and rolled out to all Booking.com partners.
• I've been responsible for:
• engineering management – defining development roadmap, setting effective SDLC process;
• team management – maintaining effective agile processes, removing friction within the team;
• people management (8 people of different crafts) – supporting relevant HR processes, performance management, coaching and career development;
• delivering according to my core role – Frontend Developer.
