Mission: To support the professional journey of those who come from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Personal brief: My name is Dheeraj Singh. I come from a socially disadvantaged background. I am a second-generation graduate. I am an investment and program management consultant with 18 years experience in impact investing, private equity investing, and investment banking in top-tier global funds, global philanthropies, and MNCs. I have executed 14 deals, with 8 on the buy side and 6 on the sell side across Education, Skilling, Jobs, NBFCs, Clean energy, Infrastructure, Logistics and Industrial sectors. I do consulting on impact and investing strategies. I also execute advocacy strategies for diversity in higher education. Previously, I was Program Manager at The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, the UK's largest philanthropy. I was also Program Manager at the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, the US's top philanthropy. I did impact investing (early stage, deal size US$1-5mn) and grant-making in financial inclusion, education, skilling, economic opportunities, and gender themes for the underserved communities. As an Associate Director at AMP Capital, the world's top infrastructure asset investor, I have executed and managed private equity investments (growth stage, deal size US$10-30 million) in India and China through board participation in renewables, oil & gas, infrastructure, and telecommunications and delivered multiple profitable exits. At Ernst & Young M&A division, I have executed investment-banking deals cumulatively worth US$ 1.2 billion across energy, ports, steel, mining, agrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals in debt, equity, acquisition, and joint venture. Being a chemical engineer, I started my career as a Process Engineer in BPCL refinery. I am an MBA from IIM Calcutta and a B.Tech. from IIT Kanpur. Currently building a mentoring support system for IIT students. I started a 23-year-old social NGO that runs an award-winning after-school program for community children. I have published articles on higher technical education, diversity, and mental health. I have spoken at conferences on impact investing and diversity themes. I live in Gurgaon with my spouse and a child. We are nature lovers. Reach me at dheeraj012@gmail.com
