I am a civil engineering graduate with a masters in project and enterprise management from UCL and a passion for uncovering the story behind every budget line. Curiosity about how numbers drive decision-making on a building site led me into quantity surveying. To date, I’ve channelled that interest into crafting detailed cost plans, preparing bills of quantities, analysing tender returns and proactively tracking cost variances to prevent budget overruns. I’ve taken drawings from AutoCAD to the site tape measure, logged progress in Procore, maintained NEC paperwork with precision and nudged budgets back in line using custom Excel trackers. Alongside quantity surveying, I’ve carried out building surveys, conducting condition assessments, compiling snag lists and writing client reports that translate technical findings into clear, accessible language. I’ve also handled essential project administration tasks such as subcontractor procurement, issuing payment certificates and organising stakeholder meetings to keep everyone aligned. In a part-time role with Sai Shivani Arts, I managed event budgets and negotiated with suppliers, proving that calm communication and accurate numbers matter as much in a gallery as on a construction site. Sustainability sits high on my agenda. I enjoy applying value engineering ideas and risk modelling to steer projects toward lower-carbon solutions, because a successful outcome should make sense for the planet as well as the balance sheet. Outside work you’ll find me diving into reading on how people solve problems under pressure, whether that’s psychology, project management case studies or biographies of individuals who achieved remarkable feats.
