Soon enough, fighter planes faded and gave way to the charm of being a detective/investigating officer. A few years passed and I fell in love with the grandeur of medieval history. I fantasized the life during that era and wanted to know more about the grandeur of kings and their mighty empires. With a bit of inspiration from Indiana Jones, I decided that I will grow up to become an archaeologist. That was almost the most certain decision I made about my career. Archaeologist it is! Life takes unprecedented turns and as a victim of influences, I made up my mind to put the archaeological obsession to rest and pursue the most respected profession of a soldier. Which kid wouldn’t have dreamt that?? I prepared for the National Defense Academy and gave the exam a shot. Again; my folks were reluctant to let me be. Guess what?? I started my real career as an advertising professional then into recruitment. Today, I’m getting to live everything I ever wanted to be and my current profession is the most fulfilling for a guy like me… how?? As a Head of Recruitment , I feel like the engine driver.. I pull my team along chugging towards success and a destination. As a HR interviewer, I do every possible investigation into a candidate’s profile. I also get to do the background verification where my detective instincts get a high. I dig deep into the company’s past to analyze and understand how we fared – though lame, I still feel like an archeologist. I command respect and I see camaraderie within my team. I feel like an army general in truest sense as I’m responsible for my men (and women too). My Team entrusts me with best of responsibilities and lets me take decision as I want to run this organization. In return, I want to deliver nothing below the best.
