• At Sears, I focused on backend development and data engineering to build internal tools that helped teams access and understand key data more easily.
• I developed a unified data dashboard with a modular backend, making it easier for managers and vendors to view metrics, spot issues, and take action. The backend supported real-time and historical data pulled from multiple service providers, stored in both SQL and NoSQL databases. I designed and maintained automated pipelines that handled this ingestion and made the data available across teams.
• Using Flask, I built RESTful APIs to serve data to the dashboard. I used Pandas to process and visualize the data, and structured the system so different modules could plug in cleanly and work together. This improved how quickly teams could troubleshoot problems or analyze trends.
• I also integrated OpenAI into the backend to automate reporting and analysis. One chatbot I built could take natural language questions, convert them into SQL, run them on the database, and return the answers. Another tool, built with Streamlit, helped non-technical managers review team performance without needing to understand the underlying systems.
• On the business logic side, I worked on features like technician routing, job assignment, and claims processing. These changes reduced delays and sped up claims handling. I also wrote internal Python packages to simplify integration between teams and keep data consistent across services.
