Jad Mokdad — Senior Software Engineer

With over 11 years of comprehensive experience in software engineering, I specialize in building scalable web APIs, mobile and web applications, supporting startup ecosystems, and leading technical teams. At Amazon, I've played a pivotal role in enhancing internal operations through tooling and automation on the AWS cloud. My recent projects include a major redesign of the contact center technology for Amazon's hiring team, which supports the hiring of over a million candidates annually for our warehouse and fulfillment centers. Designing cloud solutions and automations to scale contact center operations and reduce number of contacts using automation and recently Generative AI. In the same product space I also lead the development of an orchestrator for our hiring workflow, managing the interaction between over 20 microservices at scale that process more than 20,000 applications per day using AWS Step Functions, alongside implementing data lake technology to automate schema discovery and orchestrate access to terabytes of data using AWS Lake Formation. Before that, I developed a world-class time and attendance solution for internal employees, significantly optimizing our internal processes, owning the time-off domain. Before joining Amazon, I worked at PinPay, where I focused on creating multi-tenant solutions for bank customers, emphasizing compliance, security, and on-prem deployments. I also bring a wealth of experience as a tech lead, managing development teams to build robust multi-tenant solutions and mobile apps, from several other previous experiences. Currently, I am enriching my expertise by pursuing a part-time Master's in Machine Learning and Data Science at Georgia Tech, aiming to integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities into my projects.
