• The health insurance platform hosts Retail Health for an individual, as well as Corporate Health Insurance catering to employees of different organisations. Worked directly with the Engineering leadership, along with Product, Business and Underwriting teams to build platforms powering Health Insurance.
• Lead engineer for developing the policy administration service (PAS) using Spring Boot + DynamoDB, a core RESTFUL service for policy administration supporting policy operations like issuance, endorsements and views. This serves more than 200 partners, with 500,000+ lives insured.
• Designed and developed the Premium Service, which supported complex insurance pricing constructs, configurable by the underwriter on the plan portal.
• Designed and developed the Plan Service in PAS, a plan creator and configurator tool. This reduced the time to onboard a new corporate partner from 3 days to ~2 hours
• Led a team of 3 engineers to power endorsement(policy edits) workflows using AWS Step Functions + Python. This was instrumental in enabling support for self-serve endorsements for customers, as well as automating correct financial and compliance reporting.
• Led a team of 5 engineers to build the partner portal (FRIDAY), a multi-tenant portal with a single fleet and strict tenant level data isolation for our corporate partners to upload their data and operate the policies owned by them. The tenant-level isolation was enforced using IAM roles governed through JWT tokens issued by Cognito.
• Part of a core team of senior engineers who were instrumental in the design, development and launch of Retail Health Insurance.
• Part of an Org-wide initiative of senior engineers to work on the convergence of the common entities (cover, plan, policy, etc) and services, and work on their evolution to make them more robust, open and standardised.

• The partnership ecosystem (B2B product) caters to the new age insurance requirements where policies are short lived and bundled with the business partner’s core product offering.
• Developed APIs in Rust to power insurance(trip, travel, loan) integrations for the top internet companies in India. Notable examples are GoIbibo, Zomato, Ola, Oyo, Lendingkart, Redbus etc.
• Developed a new policy issuance service in Spring Boot, standardizing different types of microinsurance, leading to better agility & scalability. This reduced onboarding of a new partner from ~10 days to 3 days.
• Scaled the system to support issuance of ~2 million policies/day with an average latency of ~150ms
• Developed a middleware library to power token and HMAC based authentication for our policy SDK.
• Refactored the policy issuance and endorsement APIs to be idempotent.
