• Led a team to build an internal payment microservice to significantly reduce the
• time to go-live for any use case that involved collecting a payment. This service
• enabled use cases like partial payments/refunds, connecting different
• payment-provider accounts and gave a provider-agnostic API for all of the
• operations. The service also gave the engineering team a clear bird’s-eye view of
• payment health across integrations and payment providers.
• Built and maintained the primary job scheduling system at Dukaan, which took
• the existing out-of-the-box system built on RabbitMQ + Celery and enhanced it
• by adding features like support for silent broker failures (tasks would be
• published later by cron), automatic down-scaling of consumers based on
• different circuit breakers (for eg DB load), at least once execution guarantees,
• metrics for entire lifecycle of tasks etc.
• Led a team to build a shipping-partner-aggregator service which introduced a
• standardised API for shipping on Dukaan’s platform. The design of this service
• elegantly handled cases where we allowed sellers to connect their
• shipping-partner accounts and even accounts of other aggregator services.
• Led efforts to improve the team’s shipping cadence and the platform’s overall
• reliability by setting up an integration testing and monitoring culture. Also led
• the efforts to build the actual monitoring stack (Grafana + Prometheus) and to
• increase our monitoring coverage.
• Owned inventory management and made some crucial performance
• optimisations exploiting inventory’s unique access pattern. These optimisations
• ended up in most of our edge/search pipelines. Some caches introduced had
• >99% cache hit and drastically reduced load on systems, especially during sales.
• Led the hiring drive for the backend team. Onboarded and mentored interns and
• SDE1s.

• Led the backend for Dukaan’s experiment with a reseller app (similar to
• Meesho). Added support to a majority of existing backend APIs to support both
• normal/reselling mode. Rewrote a lot of downstream systems like seller-payouts,
• edge-caching to support both use cases.
• Built third-party integrations with order, catalogue and shipping management
• APIs. Also built systems to detect the health of these integrations and to
• quantify lag between data in Dukaan vs 3P.
• Wrote the first iteration of integration tests and test utilities which catalyzed the
• integration testing culture at Dukaan. Also optimised Django’s test
• data-seeding/fixtures system to fit our use cases better (20 mins -> 4 mins time
• reduction in CI runs).

• Co-founded Ylurn, an Ed-Tech SaaS, and was responsible for leading the
• engineering during the initial years.
• Led the development of front-end/back-end components required to support
• modules such as online tests, live streaming, course content sharing, student
• performance tracking, etc.
• Provisioned and managed the entire infrastructure for testing and deployment
• on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Cloudfront).
