As a Software Engineer at American Express, I’m fortunate to be part of an innovative team, where we focus on modernizing payment networks. My journey into technology began at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, where I not only honed my technical skills but also discovered the joy of collaboration through leading web operations for our student committee. It was here that I learned how to turn ideas into actionable projects while managing a diverse team of 87 developers. In my current role, I’ve had the opportunity to enhance our payment network by implementing features like Auth on Credit and Zero Value Address Verification. These enhancements not only improved transaction efficiency but also significantly boosted security for users. One of my proudest moments was developing microservices for an internal testing application that automated integration testing—this effort improved our team's efficiency by 30%. Before stepping into my current position at American Express, I gained valuable internship experience where I developed RESTful APIs for an ERP system used by over 15 schools in Bihar. This project taught me how technology can streamline administrative processes and make a real difference in educational environments.
