• API platform for integration with third party services, including developer documentation, secure token access, and push notifications
• A native iOS/Objective-C app to communicate with the back-end, featuring data and map display, GPS and geofence monitoring, and Bluetooth Beacon (iBeacon) support

• NOW Solutions develops wirelessly networked in-vehicle hardware/software platforms to monitor industrial vehicles and shipping containers within marine terminals. Using GPS and inertial navigation as well as vehicle system/sensor integration, real-time and historical tracking of location and job activity is provided. An in-vehicle display provides interactive job details and maps for vehicle operators.
• As a member of a very small team, responsibilities covered project management and scheduling, design and implementation of web services, back-end server development, mobile and desktop application development, embedded platform development, board bring-up (software and hardware debugging), kernel extensions, SPI/I2C/serial device drivers, and 802.11 (WiFi) diagnostics and performance tuning. Daily use of C++ with servings of Python, JavaScript, PHP, CSS/HTML, and OpenGL.
• Backend server development included sensor data collection and messaging/communication with mobile clients. Heavy emphasis on message queuing and resource management due to asynchronous communication with large numbers of network clients.

• As a member of the Address Book development team for the AOL Fanfare application suite, I served as the technical lead/software engineer for a project to integrate address book management and synchronization into Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. Heavy utilization of C++, Microsoft's Active Template Library, COM, thread management, and inter-process communication.

• An integral member of the motion software engineering team, responsibilities included design, development, verification, testing, and third party integration with our patented motion control software suite, XMC®. Served as technical lead on several shipped products. Clients included Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Okuma, and Rockwell Software, covering applications for CNC, general motion, and robotic devices.
• Heavy emphasis on fault tolerant software and full test coverage, primarily using C++. Projects ranged from Software Development Kits and API integration for motion control platforms, to user interface displays and desktop applications.
• Highlights include software development for a Lockheed Martin robotic welder for construction of NASA Space Shuttle external fuel tanks, and co-author of 2 patents pertaining to PC-based motion control concepts.
• Also dabbled in a little bit of PC-based machine vision and audio processing, since it’s always fun when a robotic device can see what it’s doing, or dance to some music.
