  • Did not learn a lot in respect to content and marketing as the product was primarily sales driven. However, I did learn a lot about team dynamics and hyper-scaling a SaaS product.
  • Some key initiatives I drove in 3 months:
  • Proof of Goodwill: Creation, execution, editing, distribution & management for developing video testimonials of some of the most important product users including CHROs, Head of Talent, and other SaaS Founders. Live on intervue.io
  • The Tech-Ache in Hiring: Created a LinkedIn interview carousel series with top HRs discussing the tech-aches in talent and hiring. From researching to conducting interview, to extracting content for a carousel, to designing, captioning and social media distribution - did it all solo.

Nmims jyoti dalal school of liberal arts

  • 2020 was the most challenging year across all industries, especially education.
  • Schools, colleges, universities did not have the infrastructure to go completely remote for an unpredictable period of time.
  • NMIMS JDSoLa faced a similar dilemma - to cancel the marketing elective or find someone who can execute it as the company supposed to manage their electives did not have compliance for a remote education infrastructure.
  • And this is where the goodwill compounded. A junior from my team when I was AGS in high school recommended me to the Dean and we got the opportunity to design the marketing curriculum + teach it remotely to the final year students of liberal arts because we already had experience empowering college students before.
  • This included everything from designing to teaching to capstone projecs and guiding students in their independent research projects.
  • Teachers are voted for in some ways in these colleges. A rating less than 3 means you cannot teach next year. I am grateful our rating never went below 3.5, it meant the students found actionable value in what they were learning.
  • I have lost count of the recommendation letters I wrote over those two years and nothing brings me more joy than seeing all the graduates impact the world today.

  • My love for teaching was always in a constant battle with my love for storytelling and marketing.
  • In the initial years, I further thought of it was a negative than a positive because of this quote "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."
  • And it never made sense. Because, how can anyone, including me, teach without doing in the first place, without understanding a concept, you cannot teach it, and worse, end up teaching it wrong!
  • Until I read Aristotle: “Those who know, do. Those that understand, teach.”
  • So, when the Head of BMS Department asked my (Bombay Marketers) co-founder & I to create a create a 3 month extensive course for Digital Marketing Subject, we immediately said yes.
  • It turned to be sort of a bootcamp format where everyday the students learned something and worked towards their end of program capstone project simultaneously. 100+ students across 2 batches, it was absolutely gratifying to see them learn and grow, become open to the digital mediums and leveraging them for marketing such as basic websites, ecommerce, meta ads, analytics, brand breakdowns, etc
  • This was before the age of remote work, AI or even OTT explosion.
  • In one way this was a volunteering project as we weren't paid, who would pay 22 year olds with insane + honest passion and drive to help & teach 16-17 year old high schools students?
  • But what joy it was! Today (2025), the same students have worked in marketing departments across various companies and some are still in touch with us and express their gratitude.
  • The gains aren't always in money, sometimes goodwill goes a much longer way.
  • (And it did, what we were able to achieve with the students of KJ Somaiya College students paved the way for a much bigger opportunity later on)

Story people

Writer Assistant

Sep 2018Feb 2019 · 5 mos · Mumbai Area, India · On-site

  • First jobs are always special especially when you find the right people as mentors.
  • I was in my final year at Whistling Woods when I decided to start working. My goal was to get a sense of real-world writing in the film world.
  • I learned to write loglines, ads, documentary outlines, story pitches, pilots, scripts and screenplays. And while all of it was a lot of fun, I realised soon that while I may be able to develop stories, navigating the Bombay film and media world was a whole different story.
  • There were two key highlights of my first job:
  • 1. Creating a pitch, pilot and first season episodic outline of an OTT show about a female vigilante. Sajal Sir (ex head of content, the Yuvaa, India) helped me shape this web show (which was also read by Varun Grover, writer of Sacred Games, Superboys of Malegaon). Who knows if it will ever become a Netflix series but for a 20 year old having developed it was a joyful milestone in itself.
  • 2. Commuting 20km everyday by bus and having the privilege to observe people from all walks of life and creating imaginary scenarios like doodles in the air.
  • The commute was indeed exhausting, another learning that while we may find light even in the most exhausting routines, it is essential to cultivate being 'more' when you realise you need to grow as a person.
  • So, I deep dove into the question "If not the world of films, what then? Where can I apply all my learnings of storytelling and story-selling?
  • And the answer was so obvious it would be an insult to call it a light bulb moment: Marketing.

AGS - Assistant General Secretary of Cultural Committee

Jun 2014Apr 2015 · 10 mos · Mumbai, Maharashtra, India · On-site

  • Junior college year 2 - This was the year I learned the value of spirituality, kindness & self-trust in the face of subtle politics & interpersonal dynamics when there is a position + reward to be achieved: the senior leadership core team: GS1, GS2 & 1 AGS.
  • For most part, I believed being well-dressed, outspoken & able to stand for yourself were major qualities of a leader. What I also learned was it sometimes needs a person to be manipulative and diplomatic to get things done for the betterment of a team and bigger picture.
  • I was none of these things.
  • Through year 1 I just enjoyed the work, helped my team, had fun. I was aware I knew how to aid my team but wasn't very good at being an influential voice.
  • Obviously, I had no hopes of winning any core team positions, least of all being nominated. I was the girl who would be reading books in the middle of a class, spend hours on a poster with my team to make it perfect, stay late when required. The 'working' bee as I liked to call myself.
  • When the new senior team was to be formed, we were called in a classroom and the current GS briefed us that the exiting senior team had voted and 3 people were selected for the positions of GS 1, GS 2 & AGS.
  • Kid you not, I was so sure I won't be called that even in that moment I remember I was reading a book on my phone.
  • So when they announced the names as GS 1 - Aashay (loud claps, GS 2 - Tushita and AGS - Saakshi, it took me a few moments to register what had happened.
  • I was elected by votes! And I realised it was because I was always chatting with my seniors to learn, I had no agenda at all. And they felt seen! Therefore, I got on their radar.
  • So, maybe it wasn't about the clothes, glass skin and an iPhone. Maybe it isn't about playing the game.
  • It was simply about showing up for others, and being truthful in how you show up for them. That's what I learned and have kept it as one of my core values.

Creative Head - Cultural Committee

Jun 2013Apr 2014 · 10 mos · Mumbai, Maharashtra, India · On-site

  • Junior college year 1, as they call it in Mumbai, was my first experience as a 'leader', managing and guiding a team of 4 as the (unofficial) head of promotions and creatives.
  • This included 2 things: conceptualising and creating handmade posters for events, and placing them in strategic locations across the college campus to increase visibility and registrations.
  • It was during the year-long event-driven activities that I fell in love with communication as a function (which later evolved into end-to-end marketing). Every poster had 3 things we consistently refined:
  • the right visual
  • the right messaging
  • the right CTA
  • With multiple events happening every month handled by a small team of 12, it was the posters that ended up creating word of mouth, filling 80% of the seats and putting us on the map.
  • Now that I look back to those days, I guess it is where my story began.
