I count myself lucky to get an opportunity to steer my career in many ways that has allowed me to wear many hats and take on a range of responsibilities - starting as an Article Assistant at an accountancy firm, working in small, mid, & large companies; tasting entrepreneurship; and then going back again from a listed company to a tech startup and helping them become big. This is a dream come true for a small town professional like me. I would urge everyone to strive to do more for themselves and achieve their dreams. Two things interest me a lot: spreading knowledge and growing startups – both through my passion of Corporate Finance. The former pushed me to start my own coaching center to teach & help CA aspirants. The latter helped me in taking some risks with my career & getting exposed to the entire gamut of finance - book closures, accounts payable, setting up the entire Purchase-to-Pay process & statutory compliance when I joined Flipkart. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to witness and contribute to the acquisition of Myntra by Flipkart. This pushed me into a Controllership role & allowed me to witness the company achieve all-time high GMV and month-on-month growth rates. While I understood that success in e-commerce largely depends on the ability to achieve high volume or scale, given the boundless possibilities within this industry, I was intrigued by how Fintech companies benefit from fulfilling online and enjoying a streamlined operational process. This was when I was offered to join Clear as its Financial Controller in their early days. At Clear, I took a more multifunctional role - finance + sales + product development + growing the company from 30 to 1000+ employees. So a major part of my journey has been: Join a budding startup -----> Scale the startup -----> Jump back to a budding startup -----> Repeat I enjoy navigating the complexities of GST Law, GST Software Development, Business Planning, Corporate Finance, Business Development, Accounting, and Income Tax… But I love growing businesses the right way by helping them understand the gaps & navigate the financial & operational hazards in their journey.
