  • I worked at the Biorobotics Lab, Carnegie Mellon University as a summer research intern from May-July 2015 under the guidance of Professor Howie Choset.
  • One of the major research area that the Biorobotics Lab works in is design and control of very high DOF snake like robots. The lab has been successful in designing various motion plans or "gaits" for simple actions like moving straight, rolling, turning etc. These gaits reduce the complexity of the control problem of the snake robots from many degrees of freedom to a manageable few parameters.
  • The major application of these robots is Urban search and rescue, and staircases/steps are challenging features that these robots must overcome. During the course of my internship, I designed a gait that enabled the snake robots to climb staircases of varying step heights.
