• Abstract: The FJSP is composed of two problems routing and
• scheduling.Routing is the assigning of each operation to a machine out of a
• given set of eligible machines.Scheduling is the sequencing of all the assigned
• operations on the selected machines.In this paper we develope an Improved
• Firefly algorithm to solve the FJSP which is more efficeint. In this, machine
• assignment and operation sequencing problems are solved by developing a
• suitable conversion of the continuous functions as attractiveness, distance, and
• movement into new discrete functions.

• Abstract: All manufacturing environment is dependent upon the trouble-free
• operation of all its component parts. In order to reduce maintenance time,
• detecting and diagnosing process failures quickly becomes a crucial task. Upto
• 80% of the downtime is spent locating the source of fault. In this project we
• study the various types of maintenance, different causes of breakdown and how
• to prevent them.
