Mr. Harish Mehta is the author of The Maverick Effect, a national bestseller. This book tells the untold story of the Indian IT revolution and its industry body, nasscom, which transformed India's brand image. He was honored by PM Narendra Modi in 2015 for 25 years of service to Indian IT. Mr. Mehta's entrepreneurial spirit is embodied by the Onward Group of Companies. He was the Dy. Chairman and MD of Onward Novell (1992-2005), a 50:50 JV between Onward Group and Novell, Inc. (2nd largest personal software company globally then). Further, Onward Technologies Ltd has flourished as a global engineering & analytics organization - making its mark amongst the top 2000 global companies in the North America & Europe market. He also introduced TiE, a Silicon Valley based organisation, to promote innovation-driven entrepreneurship in India. He was its first President in Mumbai and continues to be an active mentor. He is a director and active angel investor at Indian Angel Network (IAN), one of the world's largest and most active angel investor groups. He is a founding member of and a VC at Infinity Venture Fund, India’s first corporate VC fund. He was director at College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) from 2010 to 2015 and was recognised as a distinguished alumnus in 1995. He has won numerous awards for contribution to Indian IT, such as ‘CEO of the Year’ by NMIMS, Tata HRD Network & World HRD Congress in 1994. He is an active volunteer of Onward Foundation & Dewang Mehta Foundation. He holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from COEP and a master’s in computer science from Tandon School of Engineering NYU (f.k.a. Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute).
